POSITION DETAILS: This position works 43 Weeks per year. Work hours are 10:30am - 6:00pm. This is a grant funded position and funding is awarded on a year by year basis.

Employees who are in a paid status for at least 120 days per school year will increase a step on the salary schedule at the beginning of each school year. All employees begin on Year 1.

EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers.  The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for employees' children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate.  

This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA).  Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan.  Enrolling in the 403(b) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by making a pre-tax salary deferral contributions to the Plan.

Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity. 

EVSC offers a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP). It is a confidential, voluntary service that provides professional counseling and referral services designed to help employees and their family members with personal, job or family-related matters.

 

THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION AND FUNDING IS AWARDED ON YEAR BY YEAR BASIS

 

SUMMARY:  

Develops and implements school based programs and services in partnership with community based organizations to support the needs of students and families.   Maintains accurate program records and reports.  Performs duties as required by the 21st Century Community Learning Center and Title I grants.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Other duties may be assigned.

 

Out of School Time Programming

  • Recruit program staff, manage site budget/payroll, and coordinate after school transport for the school site.
  • Maintain and track regular attendance at all events and programs.
  • Maintain accurate program data, including Cayen Data System reports and federal reporting system.
  • Fulfill direct program facilitation, as needed.
  • Build a program implementation model which will provide high quality program delivery, creating linkage to school day offerings and ensure performance measures are met.
  • Monitor site progress against target outcomes and implement improvement strategies as needed.
  • Identify and recruit students for all out of school time programs in consultation with teachers, counselors, social workers, and other staff.
  • Participate in all external meetings that pertain to 21st Century Programs, Title I, and Community and Family outreach work.
  • Work with principals, teachers, and other family engagement staff to maintain accurate data on out of school time programs, volunteers, community programs, and parent engagement initiatives/outreach.

Family and Community Engagement

  • Nurture relationships and serve as a liaison between school staff, parents, volunteers and community based organizations.
  • Work closely with the school administrator to develop a Family and Community Engagement advisory team.
  • Organize and attend regularly scheduled site council / advisory meetings.
  • Work with the advisory team to help develop welcoming approaches, programs, and activities designed to  engage families and the community.
  • Organize/coordinate monthly family engagement activities which align with 21st CCLC Grant, School Improvement Plan, and Title I requirements.
  • Follow the EVSC Title I Family Engagement Policy guidelines to help engage the community and families in meaningful ways.

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate a computer, knowledge of computer programs such as Google, Microsoft Office, etc., as well as work with video and/or audio equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing and ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in supervision of after-school non-certified instructors and assistants.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

(A) Completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education; or (B) obtained an associate’s degree (or higher); or (C) met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics by having passed the state approved formal Para pro assessment.  Bachelor’s degree or completed college course work is preferred.  Experience in coordinating programs and working with children, as well as knowledge of educational principles is a must.
