This exempt position is scheduled for 183 days per school year, 7.25 hours per day. The position follows the Board of Trustees approved school calendar for holidays. This position will work with middle school students in a classroom setting daily.

EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers. The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for employees' children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate.
This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan. Enrolling in the 403(b) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by making a pre-tax salary deferral contributions to the Plan.
Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity.

SUMMARY:
Develop and implement school social work services to address the social, emotional and educational needs of students (and their families) to ensure academic success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Work directly with students in a classroom setting regarding social and emotional skills.
- Contact and assess families for risk factors.
- Conduct home visits as needed to address student/family needs.
- Develop individual, family and group service plans.
- Provide direct counseling, intervention, advocacy and referrals to school and community resources.
- Be a liaison between the school, family and community resources.
- Chart individual, family and group progress towards set goals on a regular and on-going basis.
- Share on a need to know basis, information with school personnel that impacts a student’s successful academic progress.
- Provide supportive consultation services to school personnel as needed.
- Administer evaluative instruments to assess outcomes of service provision.
- Record data as required by funding sources for program evaluation purposes.
- Participate in continuing professional development.t
- Attend community meetings related to the provision of school social work services.
- Work with student service team at the school to identify student needs.
- Maintain regular attendance.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Masters degree in social work, experience working with low-income families, strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of community resources or equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the board of school trustees.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Licensed social worker in the State of Indiana. Indiana Department of Education School Services license in School Social Work preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, school board members, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to prepare, project, monitor and document funds from multiple sources.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
