POSITION DETAILS:

This position works during the school year, 5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day. The position works and is paid for 183 days, and follows the EVSC School Board of Trustees approved calendar.

 

SALARY:
Education Range
Bachelor $43,988 - $58,430
Master $45,731 - $79,671
Doctorate $48,799 - $82,738

EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers.  The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for employees' children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate.  

This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA).  Employees may also participate in a 403(b) match Plan.  Enrolling in the 403(b) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by making a pre-tax salary deferral contributions to the Plan.

Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity. 

EVSC offers a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP). It is a confidential, voluntary service that provides professional counseling and referral services designed to help employees and their family members with personal, job or family-related matters.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Certification by National Registration Exam

 

SUMMARY:  Provide educationally relevant physical therapy to identified students.  The physical therapist works with students and team members to enable the student to benefit from his/her special education program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Other duties may be assigned.

  • Obtain necessary background medical information on each student and maintain an ongoing communication link with medical personnel as necessary.
  • Provide individual assessment of students referred.
  • Develop goals based on assessment to enhance motor development and/or prevent secondary problems and/or to enhance classroom function.
  • Attend conferences necessary to assist in the development of the IEP.
  • Develop plan to implement therapy goals, assists in the development of the IEP and attends and assists in the conferences.
  • Interpret physical therapy assessment, goals, and program to parents and school personnel.
  • Carry out physical therapy program and assist parents and teachers in modifying environments and in providing appropriate activities or techniques.
  • Determine, recommend, and oversee equipment and architectural modifications, which allow students to function more independently.
  • Document student progress and maintain appropriate data/records pertaining to physical therapy services.
  • Maintain regular attendance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Graduate from an approved school of physical therapy.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

License from the state to practice PT.

 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, school board members, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to prepare, project, monitor and document funds from multiple sources.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
