POSITION DETAILS: This position works 40 Weeks per year, 5 days per week at 7 hours per day.

The hourly rate for a current EVSC assistant will be based on years of service with EVSC in an assistant role. Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with the EVSC in this role if an employee has worked 120 days in a school year.

EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers.  The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for employees' children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate.  

This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA).  Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan.  Enrolling in the 403(b) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by making a pre-tax salary deferral contributions to the Plan.

Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity. 

EVSC offers a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP). It is a confidential, voluntary service that provides professional counseling and referral services designed to help employees and their family members with personal, job or family-related matters.
REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED required. 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is based upon student enrollment in this school building. Fluctuating student enrollment may make it necessary to move an employee to another school building or reduction in hours. Enrollment is evaluated at the start of a new school year. The EVSC works diligently to ensure employees maintain the position that they are hired for but in some cases, transfers may occur in order to effectively serve EVSC students.

 

SUMMARY:  

Oversees and monitors students in behavior support rooms, AEA or similar rooms in the building that provide support to students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct interviews with students regarding behavior and academic goals.
  • Collects assignments from students.
  • Returns completed assignments to appropriate teachers.
  • Maintains an atmosphere conducive to study and learning.
  • Works closely with faculty and staff.
  • Provide support and coverage to office staff as needed as well as perform various clerical duties.
  • Supervise students during lunch periods.
  • Provide supervision to students in classrooms.
  • Create documents, materials and copies for staff. Utilizes standard office equipment, computers and related software.
  • Maintains regular attendance.

  • Ability to operate a computer and related software including Microsoft and Google systems.
  • Ability to develop working relationships with students and staff. 
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all corporation policies and state requirements.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Previous office experience preferred.
